On the evening of August 22, 2024, the Monroe Senior Softball League played “Pitch for the Cure”, its annual charity All-Star game to raise money for prostate cancer awareness, screening, detection, and treatment. The charity we played for, Fans for the Cure, is a 501(c)(3) organization started by Sirius/XM national sports broadcaster and baseball guru Ed Randall, after his own diagnosis in 2003.
The night was glorious as hundreds of people came together from across Monroe Township to watch the game, participate in the pre-game activities, and donate generously to help us raise over $17,000 for this worthy cause. The League extends its gratitude to all the players, volunteers, sponsors, donors, and friends and family who supported Pitch for the Cure and made it a heart-warming success.
T-shirt hawks Meg Pribyl and Wendy Strauss, joined by Harriet Blumenstock, show off the merchandise.
